Recently, I took the Pottery Restoration Classes from Raymond and Joanna.
I very much appreciate my experience which includes their hospitality , attention to detail and overall comprehensiveness to my teaching. This has been a life changing experience for me in that. Within a couple weeks I have begun some restoration projects. I can envision my own restoration business.
My experience with Raymond and Joanna is unforgettable. They are wonderful people who will not hold back in their knowledge including little secrets.
I am very happy that I took their classes and I highly recommend them to anyone.

Joanna & Raymond are the best;
If you are concerned about taking Joanna & Raymond antique pottery restoration class, don't be! The one on one instruction is frankly the type of training a novice needs. Raymond and Joanna go through each of the restoration process and then ask you to complete these tasks to ensure your understanding. The CDs provided along with the course are a very helpful tool and mirror much of the training. I would highly recommend this class to anyone interested in learning the art of antique pottery restoration.

One week this last March I spent taking the most concentrated, educational, one on one, training course; learning the art, skill & discipline of pottery repair & restoration.
My host-teachers were patient & congenial. Their step by step knowledge is from experience & tenacity - and there probably isn't a more evolved & complete method of bringing pottery from the "toss it out" condition to the pristine, collectable condition.
I have no doubt that following their procedures and with the help of their highly detailed 10000+page book on CD & their "get started" kit you can become expert antique pottery restorers & repairers.
I had a great time with Joanna and Raymond.

Joanna & Raymond are wonderful people and the course is superb.
I found the course 150% worthwhile and worth the money.... it is complete with all the information you need with one on one training.. They have perfected their training and techniques so it is easy to understand and accomplish. They also offer support after you take the course if you run into any problem in the future. They are very well organized, their property is gorgeous and they offer the proper Southern hospitality that you would expect.
I was repairing the very next day when I got home and have trained my wife for repair also...
We now have 2 dozen of our own pieces in various stages and we are currently working on a portfolio for customer business and boy are they lined up waiting for me to open business.
I have not taken any other courses so I can not speak about them, the reason I took Joanna's and Ray's course is because of the one on one training, I am overly happy that I did take their course.
I learned more than I thought I would and I would recommend them to anyone with a 10 star rating...

Joanna and Raymond, who are two of the nicest people you would want to ever
meet. They are experts in the field of pottery, china and porcelain restoration, having many years of hands on experience. If you've dreamed of learning the art of restoration this is the class in which to invest your
money and time. Raymond and Joanna's one-on-one class is ideal, and I can
say, without a doubt, this was the best five days I ever spent. Try this
class, you'll be so glad you did. Their class room so nice, with lots of
natural light and views of their acreage that are beautiful (as shown on
their website). Their professionally made instruction cd's that show you,
in detail, the steps of restoration, are easy to use and are invaluable when
you want to review the steps after you get back home. Joanna and Raymond
were my instructors, but they remain my good friends. They provided a great
pot of coffee each morning and delicious lunches, too. If you're dream has
been to learn the art of restoration, this is the answer to your dreams.

I really just want to let everyone know out there that I have taken the class offered by Raymond and Joanna. I absolutely loved every minute of it and learned a lot. They are so much fun to be with and make you feel at home. I stayed at the Best Western, which is a great place to stay and there is a super Wal-Mart directly across the street. Also, many eating places are nearby. Each night when I was back in my room I missed Raymond and Joanna so much I was going through withdraws. I would go to bed early so the next day would come faster. Take this class you will love it.
